The surface-sterilized tomato seeds are placed in a petri dish with nutrient medium for germination. Murashige and Skoogs (MS) medium is used in this case. |

| CUT
EXPLANTS After 7 days, the tomato seedings are at the stage where the cotyledons (explants) can be cut for use in transformation. |
